This item is an Edwardian sterling silver pill-box / fob / locket made in Birmingham, England in 1916. The silver hallmarks are clean and easy to read. They show the company Crisford & Norris made the item. This is just the kind of pill-box that would be found in Downton Abbey.
Canadian Military Dress Uniform will be at the Toronto Gadsden’s Vintage Clothing Show
Kingpin’s Hideaway is a vendor at Gadsden’s Toronto Vintage Clothing Show on Sunday April 14, 2013, where there will be more than 30 top Ontario and Quebec dealers in vintage fashion and textiles.
The show is a highly successful and much-anticipated event on the Toronto vintage fashion scene. This show is all about great vintage clothing, jewellery and fashion accessories, as well as old textiles, linens, fabrics and quilts, including the Canadian military dress uniform pictured above.

Welcome to the first in a continuing series of Vargas inspired pin ups produced by Kingpin’s Hideaway. Pastel Supernova graces us with her rendition of the wild and cigar-smoking Carmen. She also has on display a gorgeous silk crêpe piano shawl in deep royal purple with a wide border of silk velvet.
The piano shawl was made by the defunct J.H. & C.K. Silk Mill of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, pre-1930 and features an early Art Nouveau batik.
This series is built on the structure of the Vargas Pin Up crafted by Peruvian artist Alberto Vargas. Vargas developed his distinct style throughout the 20th century with his work for film posters and Esquire and Playboy magazines.
